Xander Corey is certain that what his husband, Lorne MacBain, the chief of police in their little town of Osprey, is seeing outside their kitchen window is nothing to worry about. It’s concerning that whenever Xander looks, there’s nothing there, but really, it could be anything. Why borrow trouble and assume the worst? Besides, it’s midwinter, after all, and everything is sleeping.

And while during the deep, dark days and even darker nights, things can get spooky, that’s not to say that logical minds won’t prevail, even when tested at the most vulnerable time. Remaining steadfast in the face of danger is what guardians do… and staying alive would certainly help as well.

Perfect, except for…..

I love this series SO much! Love the characters, the magic, the folklore, literally everything about it. This shorter addition to the Raven of the Woods series was thoroughly enjoyable and delicious to listen to. My absolute only complaint is that it was over so fast. I really, really hope there are more books coming to the series.

I will always tune in to what Xander is up too. This is an instant add, great performance lovely story.

Love this series each installment is an auto buy and Greg Tremblay always does a phenomenal job bringing these characters and universe to life!

Just what I needed

This Novela captures my feelings for winter really well, and I love that we get another story about our favorite witch of the woods and all the craziness that comes with being a guardian of Corvis.

Short but sweet

A lot of things happened but nothing felt rushed. Xander and Lorne don’t seem to catch a break from the evils of the world. Excellent narration.
